Betsafe casino and sportsbook launch in Ontario

The leading igaming operator, Betsson Group, made its long-awaited debut in Ontario, with the brand Betsafe. After acquiring the necessary licenses from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario a week ago, Betsafe will go live with casino, sportsbook and poker products. The verticals will be offered through the Strive Gaming platform, which is partly owned by Betsson.

For the upcoming debut in Ontario, Betsson localised the content of the casino, so it will cater to Canadians. Moreover, all verticals will be easily accessible from a smartphone via a mobile app.

Betsson Group to emphasize Ontario market

It's been a tedious process to get the appropriate licenses, but the company is committed to offering a high-quality product to the Ontario market, according to Betsson AB President and CEO, Pontus Lindwall. In his words: "We are pleased to obtain the necessary licenses to operate with both a B2C and B2B offering in the locally regulated online gaming market in Ontario.

We are convinced that there are great opportunities for Betsson in Ontario in both the B2C and B2B channels as we bring a highly competitive offering to the market."

Betsson has also recently partnered with Pariplay, to provide players with more casino games. Similarly, Bragg Gaming was also included in its provider list. The company additionally acquired a local license in Cordoba, Argentina.

What's in Betsafe for Ontario players

The casino section of Betsafe will be loaded with online slots and table games from top-notch providers such as Hacksaw, Microgaming, NetEnt, Novomatic and many more. The Live Casino includes Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, Baccarat and Game Shows from Evolution, Playtech and other providers.

You will also find a quality sportsbook section with hundreds of events daily and a live betting platform. Esports and Virtual Sports are added perks that will keep you entertained for a long time.

In addition to the AGCO license, Betsafe is also regulated by the MGA, adhering to the highest standards in the industry. The Ontario market will fall under the Rest of the World category in Betsson. This category accounted for approximately $4.2m or 2% of the group's total revenue for Q4 in 2022.
