Yggdrasil launches in US and Canada with a Multi-Year IGT agreement
Malta-based slot game developer Yggdrasil has signed a multi-year content distribution deal with International Game Technologies, an agreement which will introduce Yggdrasil games for the first time in North American markets.
Through this partnership, IGT gets exclusive access to a handful of the developer's online slots to be distributed to online casino partners in parts of the US and Canada, where online gaming has been legalized.
Top of the Class Games
While Yggdrasil makes its debut in North America, IGT will be fortifying its Play Casino lineup with the top-tier slot titles from the former's repertoire. Some of the games include Casino Zeppelin, the highly volatile steampunk-themed slot released in 2015, and the 5x5 grid Valley of the God's with up to 3,125 ways to win. The operator will also have access to Vikings Go Wild, the first installment of Yggdrasil's popular Vikings series.
Commenting on the collaboration, Enrico Drago, IGT Chief Executive Officer Digital & Betting, said: "Partnering with high-performing games developers such as Yggdrasil is a pillar of IGT PlayDigital's growth strategy and an additional differentiator of the IGT PlayCasino value proposition."

Drago added that Yggdrasil Gaming's "artistic talents, passion for innovation and commitment to quality and performance shine through in all their games and we believe Yggdrasil games will complement our player-favourite IGT PlayCasino games."
According to the London-based company, the Yggdrasil games will be featured on its platform from December this year.
For IGT, this new partnership is only one of the many. Most recently, it inked a multi-year PlaySports technology and services agreement with The Stadium LLC in a move to extend its LatAm footprint. Under the agreement, its PlaySports technology and trading advisory services will exclusively power all sportsbook outlets of Puerto-Rico based WinIn.
Debuting in "Key Territories"
Yggdrasil already has quite a considerable presence in Europe. Its games are largely popular among operators and players alike for their crisp and clear-cut graphics, immersive gameplay and exciting bonus elements. They've recently launched the innovative 90k Yeti Gigablox slot in collaboration with 4ThePlayer – a 46,656 ways-to-win slot with a max multiplier of over 90,000x.
Making its way into territories like the US and Canada is a huge leap in expanding its reach, driving long-term growth and shareholder value, and they believe IGT is the perfect partner to do it with.
Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO of Yggdrasil, said, We are delighted to partner up with IGT, the world's leading gaming supplier, who will have exclusive territorial distribution rights for a selected number of our best-in-class Yggdrasil game titles.
"As the online gaming market continues to expand in North America, we look forward to supporting IGT's PlayCasino customers to realize their goals through our player-centric, highly entertaining, and iconic games."
In the US, online gambling is currently legal in Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. And more states are moving to regulate online gambling. On the other hand, Canada recently approved single-event sports betting, which is a milestone step towards more regulated gambling.
